The Edge of the World

34
I knew it! The world is sewn together at the edges. Today I found the end of the string.

We went down to the beach today to comb the beach for washed-up materials. Our intent was to look for materials for a trellis. The beans went in the ground without event--we ended up planting them by the wire fence so they could climb the fence.

So why still the trellis? Well, Mr. B loves passion fruit (lilikoi). And although it seems it will take 6 months before they will fruit, it is worth a shot to put these vines in our garden/plot. Apparently (based on internet information) they are easy to grow in tropical weather (love full sun and shelter from the wind).

The trip was more productive than I thought. This was my first intentional foray through the trash that the sea spits up. For the trellis project, we found some thick bamboo posts as well as nets and rope for the passion fruit vines to climb. I also found a nice looking Nescafe glass jar (for all the flowers I get. . .) and some sea sponges (for my delicate skin  o.O ). The dogs got a run of exercise, and we caught the sea breeze . . .

And of course, I found the edge of the world, and had a photo shoot with it.

As you likely have already concluded, "the edge of the world" is really just held together with some heavy rope--no wonder it is always leaking.

Got any other cool finds?
