So now that we're on an island (or imagining
that we are on an island), it occasionally comes up--what would you do if you
were of the island?
The immediate things are simple-go shopping!
For me, that's clothes. Depending on the size of your island--and mine is
waaaaay way small, I would also buy essential amenities that are inaccessible
of heavily overpriced because of the limitations of shipping or storage. If
you're a curl-head like me, you might think of grabbing (or hoarding) your
favorite hair conditioner that you can’t live without. Other people go for the
food. They dream of the “hometown ______” that they used to have, or the
specific regional dish they tasted while traveling.Oh, but it’s all so far away. Every time I
leave, I make a list (especially of things I need to bring back to the island).
Off of my island, I would really enjoy
visiting friends from college. I wouldn’t mind seeing some cheaper airplane
tickets, or visiting a nice show somewhere. But honestly, every time I leave, I
am saddened. And if I truly were to leave, I would simply unpack my belongings
somewhere else and call it home.
That about settles it for me, but I’m pretty
easy to please. Anything you are craving to do?
