We had multiple patients in the morning, so my lunch got pushed back to 2pm. Then I had an hour-long meeting. When that was up, I rushed toward my lunch, and was stopped by a co-worker who in an urgent voice said "Your car got a boot on it. You need to go talk to security. You should go do it now because it's Friday afternoon, and you don't want them to leave."
It was true- lo-and-behold, a bright yellow boot on my car, and a sign on my windshield that said: "Your car has a boot placed on it, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE." Thank you for stating the obvious.
The deal was, they never assigned me a true parking spot. They just told me to park in this multi-purpose area. And since it is a multi-purpose area, sometimes the lot is filled with temporarily stored items or general riff-raff. And since I've been on a pause for biking (was sick for a week), I drove in and parked in the wrong spot one too many times.
Anyway, they took it off without any questions (island-style) and didn't even charge me . . .goodie. And they will now, finally, after a year of me being here, assign me a proper parking spot.
And also, I finally got to eat my lunch close to 4pm.
