Vacation

34
Where do you go on vacation when you live in paradise?

Nowhere.

Not true for everyone, but my family's too far away to visit this holiday season. Looks like I am fast narrowing into extreme independence :l

So, what will I do?
1) Try to bike around the island.
2) Learn more Spanish!!
3) Submit job applications
4) Complete a draft of a journal article
5) Read up for another article-consider writing some
6) Surf more
7) Craft?
8) Call about my car--long story

It seems like a short list, but focus on what's important in life, right?

Oh, almost forgot J'ouvert / Carnival!!  J'ouvert  is a fantastic Caribbean street festival (originally introduced by the French, hm). We parade through the streets (scantily clad) and dance from the wee hours until day (whenever we can no longer keep awake). It is amazing people watching--and booty-watching. Because, these girls know how to bubble their bubbles (watchout, that song has a 2 min intro). That is one thing I am trying to learn here. But it is tough, I tell you--these girls have extra muscles! Or I don't party enough. Or both.  I think that's an important life skill. They also have amazing butts, which I assume is genetic. . .

So, in summary, I think I am hoping to end up looking like this from this summertime video by the end of break. Haha.

9) Learn to bubble
